How can I start my own disco and karaoke business?

Author: I have a love of music.I am not happy in my job working as a sale assistant so I have decided I want to start my own business putting in disco‘s and karaoke this would be the perfect job for me the only problem is that i dont know how to go about it.Any ideas
The best way is to chat with a professional. Just simple chat, don’t go like "I want to do it". Something easy for starters. the best way should be to work with one for couple of years and after that start something for yourself. Good Luck!

buy (or better still rent,) the equipment and a van, advertise in the local press and wait for bookings.

I was in the dj business for about 10 years. I reccomend that you get a part time job doing this working for someone else. Working clubs and private parties. I would do this for about 1 year before making investments.
I worked for 2 different guys for about 18 months before venturing on my own. I gained valuble experience and kept on good terms. Alot of DJ’s will encourage a good employee to buy his own gear and pay them a premium for working withtheir own stuff.
You will need a vechile to transport your new high end equipment, insurance, advertising, business cards, lots of music on disc or mp3, knowlege of how catering halls work, different clubs have different policies on how they hire entertainment. You need contacts and an in depth knowege of the business prior to venturing out there.
You want to go into business as a professional that is experienced at what you do.
